Adam's 2019 Goals

“If you’re bored with life – you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals.”

– Lou Holtz

Reach 2000 followers on Instagram

We have been on Instagram for a while now, but we haven't been very diligent at it. There were times when we were posting regularly and times when it went untouched for weeks. It felt like I was struggling to create meaningful content, which deterred me from doing it. Lately, I found my groove. I decided not to create original content, but to bring together some of the most informative post I find from the accounts I love to follow. Filter out what I find to be unimportant and only keeping the great. I find it to be working out great because I'm doing it for me, as reference of facts for me to always refer back to and keep me motivated. In the process I hope sharing it with you keeps you engaged as well. I'm hoping with this new content, to grow our instagram following to 2000 by the end of 2019.

Read 6 new books

Reading is an extremely important part of this entire journey. We need to be continually educating ourselves. "Never ending improvement", was a statement stressed at a conference I was at one year, and I could not agree more. Life can get pretty busy in our household, so I'm trying to be more realistic with this goal by keeping my book count to 6 by the end of the year. If I can read more than 6, that's a huge bonus.

Put on 6 seminars

A big part of our growing business is the seminars we put on. We truly believe in them and the importance of spreading knowledge. We are extremely passionate about what we are doing by putting on the seminars and using that passion to help other people become debt free, save and eventually invest. There are so many people out there that are uneducated on managing their wealth, so they are paying a ridiculous amount of fees, and have their heads buried in the sand. Don't be one of those people. We are going to put on six seminars this year. We completed our first, January 2019, so only five to go!!

Please email us if you have interest in signing up for a seminar.

Dividend income

By the end of 2019 I want to be generating $8000 of dividend income annually. With my current portfolio I am projected to make $7100, so I have a bit of work ahead of me to grow that number. If I can mange to save and invest diligently and reach that goal of $8000 annual dividend income, that will be at 40% increase from 2018!!

Develop an advanced seminar

Sticking with the theme of seminars, we want to break out current seminar up into two different ones. We want to create a second seminar that is a little bit more advanced. It will dive a little deeper into setting up brokerage accounts, how to navigate them, learning how to buy and sell securities, and get into the basics of analyzing individual stocks.

If you guys have any interest in a seminar like this, mention it in the comments below or shoot us an email.

Take one self-development course.

It’s always a goal of ours to grow as individuals. And part of that growth is to continue learning. I am going to Invest in myself by taking a course that focuses specifically on personal growth. It could focus on anything from leadership, public speaking, to language learning. There are so many options! I will find something.

Go somewhere I’ve never been before.

Traveling opens us up to new cultures, new people and new experiences. In turn, these give us a new perspective on life and can teach us valuable lessons we would have otherwise never learned. It doesn’t have to be to another country! I might just try going to new places around me! Whether it’s a small town a few hundred miles away or a plane ride to a new continent it'll be an adventure. Where will I go??

Practice patience and kindness.

I know, I know, being patient is easier said than done. It’s hard to wait in a world where we’re used to getting everything instantly. Instead of rushing through day to day life, take time out of your day to enjoy the present. Slow down, rest, and find quiet moments everyday to breathe deeply and enjoy where you are right now. Lately I have been practising mindfulness and it has been a life changer. Learning how to be in full control of the mind is very powerful. We live in a world with so much hate and anger, we all need to be fully aware of our state of mind and control our actions. Be Nice to EVERYONE! In 2019 I will continue to practice mindfulness daily, to help with patience.

I will also do one nice thing a day, for 365 days, for someone else. Even the smallest kind deed can go a long way. Smile at someone, compliment them, help them with their groceries, pay for their coffee, pay for their dinner, give them an ear to talk to.

There we go. These are my current goals for 2019. Im feeling pretty motived and ready to make things happen.  There was a lot of milestones we hit in 2018 and I feel pretty strong that 2019 won't be any different.
